Optimization and Scheduling of Urban Logistics UAVs

Designed mathematical models and algorithms for logistics hub node selection and multi-aircraft safe interval maintenance in urban low-altitude logitstics systems. Developed a multi-objective mixed-integer programming model balancing UAV safety and logistics network costs, coupled with a memetic optimization algorithm using adaptive operator selection. The model and algorithm were integrated into the General Aviation Supervision System, deployed in pilot regions like Sichuan and Zhejiang, safeguarding 500,000 flights. They also supported operations and product development for leading enterprises, such as Hangzhou Xunyi Technology, delivering significant social and economic benefits

Flight Delay Prediction for Multiple Major Hub Airport

This project revolves around delay prediction at major hub airports, integrating spatial correlations among multipleairports, including air traffic flow, geographic distances, and the temporal characteristics of each airport.It predicts the potential future delay durations of each airport, providing critical situational information forair traffic management systems. In this project, a Granger causality self-correcting spatial correlation extractionmodule was designed, utilizing graph convolution for spatial correlation modeling. Subsequently, spatialcorrelations and temporal features are integrated in a GRU model to predict future delays. The project wasintegrated into the East China Air Traffic Management Bureau’s system. During the landing of TyphoonChanthu in Shanghai in 2021, the system accurately predicted delays at eight major hub airports includingShanghai, Zhengzhou, and Chengdu, achieving a prediction accuracy rate of 89%.

Optimization and Scheduling of Large-Scale ATFM

This project focuses on optimizing flight traffic flow within Chinese major airport network by adjusting flightdeparture times, flight paths, and airspeeds, while minimizing flight conflict risks and delays. To addressthe challenges of high-dimensional optimization variables and the convergence speed required for real-timeoperations in civil aviation, a large-scale cooperative co-evolutionary optimization algorithm was proposed,utilizing flight spatiotemporal variable grouping. This approach reduced flight plan optimization time fromhours to within 10 minutes. The model and algorithm have been applied and validated in the flight flowmanagement systems of the East China and Northeast China Air Traffic Management Bureaus, significantlyreducing the frequency of slot adjustments and improving the operational efficiency of the air traffic system.
